He got green behavior marks at school for 10 days in a row. It's only happened once before and I took him to Chuck-E-Cheese's. This time I promised him a real light saber (what? you're kidding me. real Jedi's can't use vacuum attachments?) So why did I buy three? You ask? I didn't. Clayton bought one - and honestly. Truly honestly. felt honored to spend his own money on a light saber even though he had 118 days in a row of green behavior marks. (????. . .)Brigham got a light saber too. And if you want to know, it's because he's cute. . . and spoiled.

Em, I'm glad you did it. Every Jedi need a saber. I remember how I felt when I got mine... I didn't think I could every feel that euphorically empowered again, and I wasn't until I got a car ;c)
No seriously, they're pretty light, have a rather blunt tip, and will break away when used with any great force, so as far as long skinny cry inducing toys go, they're about as safe is it gets. That is until they watch the newer star wars and they realize from watching the Sith Lord that you can just as easily throw your saber at an enemy and recall it with the force. I've always thought it detracted greatly from the majesty and principle of the saber, but I guess they are pure evil so they'll cheat any way they can.
Aw man, why'd you have to do a light saber post? Now all that nerdy-ness I've been trying suppress all these years is front and center and I'll be answering all IT requests today in Yoda grammer...

Oh my that is awesome! Those pictures are the best. Sometimes I wish I could get lost in pretend play like that without looking like a crazy lady. How fun it would be to be a kid again. I guess I'll just have to stick with reading your blog because it is the closest I can get to being there. I also enjoyed the comments. I never knew Mark was a jedi too. Hilarious.

Ha ha...I told myself I was never going to give in to light sabers either. We broke down last Christmas. So, you held out longer than me :)
I am excited for your boys to come up this summer and play with Jordie. He has a light saber too, but he is more inclined to hug it and say "I lub dis light saber" (an actual quote straight from his mouth) than to wield it in any kind of fierce fashion. Hmmm, based on how serious those kids look in the pictures, I hope they don't take him out too quickly.
I love Isaac's poses. He looks like he is getting ready to use some Jedi mind tricks along with his light saber.
Yes, good luck with those. We have about 6 of them at our house. Not sure how they all got here, but I do know that they have a time out at least once a week!!
How cool! I never knew they came in so many different colors! I want one for Christmas (I could pretend that I am keeping one at the house just for visiting grandsons).

Ha ha Nobody - you're so funny. I've never analyzed my blog-process that much but usually I take pictures first (because I'm always taking pictures) and then I just use the ones that fit - sort of.
That Jedi pose picture was a total accident. Because I took it into the sun, it didn't even show up on the view finder. But the actual picture turned out awesome with the shadows and the angles and everything.
Mom - I'm cracking up at your comment. Your brothers all turned out fine. So I guess I shouldn't be too worried.
