Brigham has been taking a little woodworking class this week with a whole bunch of international kids with names he cannot pronounce. Today he said,
"My teacher doesn't call me by my name. Instead she calls me Breeg-mah."
apparently he fits right in.
He also came home complaining,
"You forgot to tell me to bring something for hotel today!"
whaa?
"yeah, everyone brought something to show for hotel today but me!"
it took some hard thinking for me to realize he was talking about show and tell. mostly because why were they doing Show and Tell in a woodworking class?
"I really want to invent something. . . that has a wall. . . with a door. . . and goes around my bed."
um. you mean your own room? sorry. with 7 people in a 3 bedroom house, we're all wishing for more of our own space, Clay.
Nate gave the kids their own sunglasses this morning. Brigham was thrilled.
"Yes! Now I have my own dude glasses!"
"In our family there are big-year-olds and little-year-olds. But I'm the only middle-year-old."
and I'll be so sad when you're a grown-up-year-old and you don't say cute things like this anymore, Briggs.
Brig was organizing the Duplo blocks when he came across a little boy figure he hadn't seen before:
"Mom, look! I found a new kid in the blocks!"
yesterday at dinner:
Me: If you could go anywhere, where would your dream vacation be?
Nate: I would take a historical road trip and visit all the church history sites and civil war battlefields.
Me: really? if you could go anywhere?
Nate: Yeah. What did you expect me to say? Tahiti?
um. yeah?
Isaac: For my dream vacation I would take a space shuttle and visit the space station.
okay, now we're talkin. forget Tahiti.
Clayton: If I could go anywhere I'd go in a time machine and visit all the places daddy said but for real.
see? I'm glad someone knows how to dream big around here
