The boys pulled off another "themed" Halloween this year by convincing the girls they were "colonial princesses". And as always, they stepped right into character without missing a beat. I couldn't even take a picture without a call to arms from the boys, and elegant curtsies from the girls. And it wasn't long before my photo shoot became a full-blown battle zone.

The girls loved their fancy colonial dresses (if only they knew what real colonial women wore!) Eliza couldn't stop dancing, bowing, singing, and posing. And of course, Lydia followed her every move.

We headed off to "Trunk-or-Treat" at the church.
Since Nate was at work, each of the boys took shifts giving out candy.
Fun night with friends.
We also enjoyed trick-or-treating on Halloween with friends in our neighborhood. We went stroller-free for the first time. Ever.
Isaac was the only one brave enough to get candy from our skeleton neighbor.
Halloween also meant some new decor, which I justified purchasing to host our Halloween-themed book group.
But the happiest day of all came when Lydia found a mermaid costume at Costco the day before her costume party at school - three sizes too big. I tacked up the tail just in time and all her mermaid dreams came true!
