Especially Beautiful Easter Eggs!

Easter has come and gone and once again Easter Eggs seemed to dominate all the festivities.

Lydia's birthday came just a few days before Easter.  She brought Easter Egg brownies to her preschool class.

Aren't these so cute? Like an egg in a little frosting nest.

Eliza's Pre-K class made milk jug Easter baskets and had an Easter egg hunt out on the playground.

The boys stayed up well into the night stuffing more than 200 eggs for our neighborhood Easter egg hunt.  I think they ate as much candy as they stuffed.

We headed over to the McKays house this year for the hunt.

Their yard proved to be a lot more entertaining than our own.

17 kids total. 6 adults. 

We had lunch.  We played.  We talked.  Jess read the kids some Easter books.

And after a speech delivered by Isaac the hunt began!

There were a few tough ones to get.  I love Riggs holding his basket by his teeth.

What a great group!

The kids made our traditional "bird's nests". 

But despite all the candy, sugar, and fun - we did not forget the real Easter story. Our week was busy (two baseball games and a practice, double piano lessons, violin lessons, scouts, gymnastics, swimming lessons, Lydia's birthday, a job interview for me, field trips, science projects, a trip to Utah, and General Conference) but we still managed to take time for the scriptures each night as we read about the last week of Christ's life - His atonement, crucifixion, and resurrection - the reason for it all.  Happy Easter!
