A. In Austin, of course. Home of the Texas State Capitol (which happens to be, by the way, taller than the United States Capitol.
I learned that too.)
Nate had an appellate litigation conference in Austin and the rest of us tagged along. Here are a few favorites from the trip:My Favorites:
The architecture (can you spot us? look carefully. . .)
Enjoying (managing) my children. Don't they look soooooo happy to be snuggling with me?
And discovering some interesting history about the great state of Texas - where (and this still surprises me) two - soon to be three - of my kids were born and raised.
Nate's Favorites:
Explaining famous historical battles, exploring artillery with the kids, and spending time down by the river - I love that picture.
Besides Chuck-E-Cheese's (which all the kids voted as their favorite part of the trip. Sorry, Austin), here are a few of their other favorites:
Clayton's Favorites: Riding the ferry boat right under the train bridge and exploring the Texas History Museum.
Isaac's Favorites: Firing the cannon (at full volume and force), wrestling with Daddy on the grass, and wreaking havoc pretty much everywhere!
Brigham's Favorites: fishing coins from the capitol building water fountain, paying Mommy in pennies (for being so wonderful, of course), playing water-bottle-baseball, and finding a REAL baseball signed by "babe woof" at the museum.

Austin is great. We were there for a year and a half. But really, really? Would you really want to consider yourself a Texan? Kidding. Any state would be happy to claim you. Favorite photo of the post: the one where the boys are so "happy" cuddled up to you. So funny.

Texas is a great state, it just kind of rubs off on you. Way to embrace it.
