November Quote Book

The boys were upstairs playing "Alamo" when suddenly we heard Isaac yell:
"Anyone who wants to die with me! Come forth!"
then there was a moment of dead silence. Nate and I both looked at each other -wondering if anyone did.

Brigham was digging in his pocket for something.
Me: Brig, what do you have?
Brig: (raising his eyebrows, narrowing his eyes, and twisting his mouth to one side) An idea.
wow. I wish I carried ideas around in my pockets.

Brigham was wearing a new sweater and looking at himself in the mirror.
Brig: What do I look like?
Nate: You look like a cool kid.
Brig: Nah. . . I look like a man.
that's right, you da man. . .

The kids were each telling their favorite foods.
Clay: Ice cream. Anything with whipped cream or frosting.
Isaac: Pizza. Cheese. Butter. Sausage.
Brig: Sparagus and fomagranite.
I think the world would be a much healthier (skinnier) place if we all had milk allergies.

Brigham picks a special "friend" to sleep with every night. It's always something different. Tonight he had his baseball and glove.
Me: Brigham, that thing is dirty. I don't think you should sleep with it.
Brig: But I need to because sometimes I play baseball when I'm sleeping.
(sigh). . . the best baseball players always do. . .

Brigham was yelling from the garage, looking for a baseball glove that would fit me:
Brig: Mom! What hands fit bigger? Yours or Daddy's?
Me: Daddy's
Brig: Yeah, because he can fit the whole world in his hands!
he's got the whole. . . world. . . in his hands. . . he's got the whole world in his. . . hands.

Brig was wide-eyed and spooked after a recent discovery at school:
"Guess what I learn-ded at school today? I learn-ded that there are skeletons inside of boys!"
a timely lesson on bones and muscles. . . right after Halloween.

Isaac was showing our neighbor a book he made at school about himself.
Neighbor: This says you want to be a race car driver.
Isaac: Not anymore. Now I'm going to be something important. . . like an oceanographer.
Neighbor: Oh yeah? What will you do when you're an oceanographer?
Isaac: How should I know? I'll find that out when I AM ONE!
wise, wise words. isn't that true about most jobs?

The kids saw some PDA at the park today.

Isaac: Kissing! Yuck!
Clay: Isaac, you have to know how to kiss if you want to get married.
Isaac: (puckering up at Clayton) Okay. . .
Clay: Gross, Isaac. Boys don't kiss boys. They don't like it. Only girls like to be kissed by boys.
Brig: But Sofia doesn't like it. That's something I really know.
uh, Brig? who's Sofia? and you know this about her because. . .?
.

I LOVE reading the monthly quotes. Hilarious. The one about kissing cracks me up.
