The tree service guy came to our door just as Lydia (in my arms) started to fuss, Eliza (at my feet) dumped out a box of frosted mini wheats, and the boys stormed past in a noisy game of wrestle-tag.
"Wow. Do you run your own daycare business?"
yup. pretty much. pretty much.


As we were exiting the airport in San Diego, Isaac spotted a model of the "Spirit of St. Louis" hanging from the ceiling. He started jumping, shouting, cheering, pointing, dancing. My mom walked over with him for a closer look. One of the security guards standing next to me at the exit rocked back on her heels and said,
"My oh my! Somebody's excited!"
oh, you have no idea. . .


Isaac toured the USS Midway Museum and went sailing on a real "pirate" ship. All in one day. That much excitement just cannot be contained. While on deck of the ship he shouted to the whole world:
"This is better than the best day of my life!"


Isaac was playing with his younger cousins who were thoroughly admiring all his antics.
"Okay guys watch this. Now I'm going to do something that I call double-awesome."
I couldn't tell which they were more impressed with, jump-roping his blue blanket or neck-diving off the air mattress into the floor.


I rode as a passenger in the high-tech flight simulator aboard the USS Midway - the kind that literally spins upside down and out of control if you don't know what you're doing. Isaac was the pilot. He did some crazy maneuvers that caused my life to flash before my eyes.
Afterward the operator asked Isaac if it was a scary ride. He laughed and thumbed me.
"My mom here was the scaredy cat. Not me. I rocked that!"
yes. he. did.


A kid from Brigham's class showed up at the park just as my three boys (wearing matching school uniforms) came barreling down the slide on top of one another. The boy stopped dead in his tracks and then ran back to his mom yelling:
"Mom! Brigham's here! Three Brighams! A big one, a middle one, and a small one!"
