Have I mentioned our obsession with Harry Potter lately? Brigham just finished reading Sorcerer's Stone and Clayton and Isaac are jockeying over who gets first dibs at Order of the Pheonix after reading Goblet of Fire together this summer. We have been living and breathing Harry Potter around here. Literally. I think my kids spent the entire month of October in their witches and wizards costumes. The boys invented a fairly sophisticated muggle-version of Quidditch which has become their number one pastime in the backyard. Made-up jinxes and counter jinxes (for better or for worse) are fired at will throughout the day. Wizard vocabulary dominates our conversations. And even I have found myself (more than once) wishing out loud for a house elf. So just in case anyone was wondering, the magical wizarding world of Harry Potter is alive and well. . . at least at our house.
Here are a few pictures from Halloween night and also from our ward's "Trunk-or-Treat" party. The kids had a blast and loaded up on tons of candy.
Clayton ran into a fellow Gryffindor at the ward Trunk-or-Treat party.
It was unusually cold that night. We actually had to break out the coats and sweaters. burrr. . .
Halloween night. Here are all my witches and wizards. Clayton was Harry Potter (of course) Isaac and Brigham were the red-headed Weasley twins (which suited them perfectly). They switched back and forth between being Fred and George all night. On purpose. And Eliza and Lydia were the cutest underage witches you have ever seen. Watch out Hogwarts!
Here is Brigham disarming my camera with his wand,
Lydia was happy to be playing outside long after her bedtime,
Here, Isaac is demonstrating how to extract a memory.
Clayton played the part of Harry Potter perfectly. And honestly, he looks more like Harry Potter to me than Harry Potter looks like Harry Potter.
Eliza absolutely loved Halloween this year. The dress-ups and the absurd amount of candy were beyond her wildest dreams.
We met up with our friends for trick-or-treating. I love this picture showcasing our favorite books of all time: Harry Potter meets Narnia.
Here are the Weasley twins being themselves as usual.
Watch Brigham in these last four pictures (starting with Narnia). Notice a pattern? Nice.
Happy Halloween!
Stay tuned for two more Harry Potter adventures (soon to be posted):

Like I said, we've been living in our wizard robes!

Your team of children are adorable. Your boys are so lucky to have each other and they are all lucky to have you :).
Love, love, love the Harry Potter theme! Best Weesley twins ever. Thank-you for blogging and making my day!
Wow! Your coordinated costumes are movie quality, and perfect for your kids. I wish I could have seen them in person, along with all the Harry Potter antics.
