BYU "Bowling" Game

Nate took the boys to the Armed Forces Bowl in Dallas last week. On the way to the stadium Nate asked rhetorically, "So who's ready to see some football?" Brigham quickly responded, "Not me. I'd rather see the BYU bowling game." He had no idea he was headed to the biggest football game of the season. And it turned out (all the boys agreed) that the BYU bowl game was actually a thousand times better than bowling. Especially this particular game. BYU could not have picked a better-suited bowl game for my boys - considering their love for (obsession with) tanks, helicopters, and anything armed forces-ish. And then combine that with Cougar football, their other passion, and the fact that BYU won! and you have ultimate happiness. They (Nate included) had the time of their lives - as you can imagine. And I'm glad they brought back so many pictures.
The kids were exited to wear their BYU hats and pillaged the stuffed animal bucket for anything resembling a stuffed cougar. (There's no doubt we're raising Y fans around here.)
The trip was delayed when Isaac, in all his excitement, accidentally threw his cougar on our neighbors roof.

After some unnecessary crying and drama, the stuffed cougar was retrieved. . .
(thankfully). . .
And they were on their way.
They stopped at the Sam Houston statue (in all our drives between Houston and Dallas, and despite all the begging, we've actually never stopped here before)
Sam Houston is big. That's all I have to say. And this statue pretty much just jumps out at you around a bend in the middle of nowhere. It's startling.
They also stopped by our very first apartment in Dallas which is where we lived when Isaac was born. Clayton is the only one who remembered living there.
They stayed in a sweet hotel with a glass elevator (which I have been hearing about non-stop)
and an indoor pool (unusual for hot Texas).
with sausage for breakfast (Brigham's favorite).
Hotels are always so exciting.
Here are a few pictures from the actual game.

Honestly, for my boys. . . it just doesn't get any better than that.

Go Cougars!

We watched a re-run of the game on TV and guess what? Brigham was on TV (jumping in the background).
