Our Hogwarts Feast

“Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!”
 - Albus Dumbledore

I had so much fun coming up with food ideas for our Hogwarts Halloween Feast.  We had Sirius Black Bean Soup, Baked Pumpkin, Treacle Tarts, Chocolate Frogs, Cauldron Cakes, Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Hagrid's Rock Cakes, Ton-Tongue Toffee, and Butterbeer.  So what if it was mostly desserts!  In the wizarding world it doesn't matter. We feasted our eyeballs out!

After the feast we headed out to the Quidditch Field for our Tri-Wizard Tournament.  Here are the basic rules - ingeniously invented by my little wizards.  Each wizard has a bucket which is placed at opposite ends of the field.  Each wizard also rides on a broom.  There are is one Quaffle and several Bludgers.   If you can get the Quaffle into another wizard's bucket you score ten points.  If you get hit by a Bludger (which are thrown at you by other wizards) you have to drop the Quaffle in that spot and return to your bucket leaving the Qwaffle free for another wizard to pick up.  If the Quaffle lands in your bucket you toss it back onto the field for another wizard to pick up and the game keeps going.  But wait!  It gets even more exciting.  There's also a Golden Snitch which is thrown into the game at random by the referee (me).  Whoever catches the Snitch automatically wins 50 points and the game is over.  All the points are tallied and usually (but not always) the wizard who catches the Snitch is the winner.  Here are my boys in action.  There were winners all around.
"At least no one on the Gryffindor team had to buy their way in. They got in on pure talent." - Hermione to Draco

"I hear you're a useful player. I was a Seeker, too. I was asked to try for the National Squad, blah, blah, blah" - Prof. Lockhart to Harry (Yeah, right.)

"It'll be down to you, Harry, to show them that a Seeker has to have something more than a rich father. Get to that Snitch before Malfoy or die trying..." - Oliver Wood

"And Potter, do try to win, won't you? Or we'll be out of the running for the eighth year in a row, as Professor Snape was kind enough to remind me only last night...." - Prof. McGonagall

"He's not even good-looking! They only like him because he's famous! They wouldn't look twice at him if he couldn't do that Wonky-Faint thing." - Hermione about Viktor Krum

"Great Scott, he can fly! Are you watching this, Mr. Krum?" - Ludo Bagman about Harry, during the First Task

"Pity you can't attach an extra arm to yours, Malfoy. Then it could catch the Snitch for you." - Harry

"What d'you think Harry's going to do with it, sweep the floor?" - Ron to Hermione about Harry's new Firebolt
Hooray for Harry Potter!

So, I saw this a couple of weeks ago, and I just came back to swipe some of your ideas for Tori's birthday party. Thank you for helping me conserve my creative juices! :D
