It's All Greek To Me

Every year there is a big Greek Festival at the Greek Orthodox Church just up the street from our house.  This year I finally decided to brave the crowds and take my kids to the festival.  We headed over right after swim team practice (thus, the crazy swim hair). Everyone had a grand Greek time!
Brig was the only one brave enough to try a Gyro. The other kids had "Greek" pizza - which turned out to be very spicy.
Of course the longest lines were at the Greek pastry shop.  Baklava, Tsoureki, and our favorite, Diples - which are like little doughnut holes drizzled in honey and cinnamon.
Fresh-pounded lemonade.
Best lemonade I've had.
Ever.
Besides the food, we also enjoyed the shopping. . .
(can you tell by this picture that we got dressed in a hurry?)
the dancing. . .

And the carnival rides.  Which all looked pretty lame to me but my kids thought they were at Disneyland and had the time of their lives.  Plus they met up with friends from school which made it all the more exciting.

Even Lydia who didn't get to go on any rides had a fun time watching all the excitement.
Yeah, we pretty much partied the night away. . .
Greekstyle.
