November blew through like a whirl of Autumn leaves - dizzying and dazzling all at the same time! November brought more school projects, band concerts, warm weather, cool weather, a Veteran's Day celebration, a piano competition, airplanes, caramel apples, new hairdos, new games, a trip to Sea World, and of course, Thanksgiving. Here's a look at our November:
Our yard turned all sorts of beautiful colors in November.
This Cypress is my favorite. It brightens our whole street and then without warning drops all it's leaves overnight. One morning we'll just walk out and all that orange will be a big pile on the driveway.
Lydia is ready with her purse and blanket (and coat!) for an event at the school. She gets to tag along to many meetings and events at the school. . .
Thankfully she is a very cute person to have tag along!
On this occasion we were headed to Eliza's Pre-K class for her Thanksgiving feast and celebration.
And what a celebration it was!
Lydia even got to wear one of the extra pilgrim costumes.
They made apple turkeys
and had a feast of mostly popcorn.
Eliza also got to display her turkey disguised as a mermaid. Can you guess who influenced this one?

My mom sent this book about flight to Isaac for his birthday. The book was originally given to my grandfather in Germany from his friend, Dieter Uchtdorf. I sent these pictures to my mom of Isaac reading that book. She sent them to Elder Uchtdorf thanking for the book and for the legacy passed down. And in November he wrote a letter back!
This will be a treasure for Isaac.
The boys competed in the Suzuki Ribbon Festival Competition in November.
Clayton played "Sonatina in A Major" by Mozart. Isaac played "Cradle Song" by Webber. Brigham played "Wild Rider" by Schuman and "Sonatina in C Major" by Clementi. They all did a fantastic job.
We spoiled ourselves by making gourmet caramel apples.
mmmm. . .
And the boys spent endless hours playing a game they invented called "Battle Shapes". . .
I have no idea how this game works but it sounds highly complicated and literally can take days to complete.

November meant pulling out our boxes of Christmas decorations, including Nate's German dolls.
Which the girls absolutely adore (some more than others).
To honor the 100th year anniversary of our National Anthem and Veteran's Day, our scout troop held a Veteran's Day celebration that included a color guard salute and honored several Vets from our neighborhood and ward.
Brigham performed his own rendition of the National Anthem. It was amazing!
What a fantastic event!
The girls started requesting (the same) hairdos in November on a daily basis. This one was a request for hair like "Belle".
Clayton gave his first drum concert ever. Being a percussionist sure looks like a lot of fun!
At home they other kids were inspired and gave their own marching band concert.
We raked and raked and raked leaves in November. . .
Including sometimes in our swimming suits and high heels!
In November we saw leaves fall and flowers bloom and that makes for a pretty good month!
