We made good use of all our Nativity costumes again this year and even added a few more (some larger wise men costumes and a King Herod costume for Nate). The Nativity story was told and retold constantly at our house and for Eliza and Lydia, it is the most magical part of Christmas! Beautiful Mary, handsome Joseph, sparkling angels, a cuddly donkey, soft little lambs, and of course, the precious baby Jesus. For little girls, it just doesn't get better than that.
The Primary children performed at the assisted living center in our neighborhood again. This event is looked forward to all year by both children and residents. Even though Clayton is not in Primary anymore, he was nice to come sing anyway and help me with the younger kids.
This year the kids made Christmas cards to give out. They always enjoy shaking hands afterward and meeting these dear people.

We also wore our costumes to our ward Christmas party "A Night in Bethlehem". I felt like I was on a date with the king!

The kids made Christmas tree ornaments and cotton ball sheep.
Back at home we enjoyed our Nativity sets around the house - 32 this year. The girls loved playing with these two sets. Each day I looked forward to seeing their latest arrangements. Here, everyone is gathered around the food. Even baby Jesus. (and Old McDonald). With all the animals lined up behind. Or are they doing the "bunny hop". I can't tell.
This one took me a minute to figure out. The empty manger. And baby Jesus sitting with the sheep. Only the angel notices he's gone.
This little baby is so darling. It can be removed from Mary's lap. It turned up missing again and again. . .but could always be found in Eliza's hand (bed, pocket, or purse).
This Nativity set from Ghana is my favorite. I love that little face peeking out.
We hosted our annual Christmas Eve party again this year. It was so much fun. 18 kids and 10 adults including the missionaries. The food was fabulous and the company was even better. This is my favorite Christmas tradition.
