Road Trip 2011

I finally finished blogging about our epic 2011 road trip across Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and back again. The entire trip took less than 2 weeks. Yet, it has taken almost 8 months to blog about it. That pretty much sums up everything in my life right now - what should take a short amount of time takes me 8 times longer. But I had so much fun reliving all these memories and I'm glad to have it all documented. I feel like I can finally have my 2011 blog book printed now and move on with life. Whew! March will be an exciting (insane) month with a trip to Disney World, moving into a new house, the beginning of another baseball season with all three boys playing this year, a piano competition, a minor surgery, two birthdays, and my mom visiting. Stay tuned. Until then you can enjoy reading about our 8-month-old trip. Here are links to all twelve of the back-dated posts in chronological order. Enjoy!

1) Driving. (yes, this is deserving of it's own post! You definitely do not want to miss the video on this one. Be very scared.)

2) Airforce Academy. (For boys who love airplanes, this place was a dream come true. We miss you, Drew and Em! Thanks for letting us crash at your place in Denver.)

3) Goblin Valley. (Now I know what it's like to go to Mars. This place is creepy and spectacular all at the same time. The boys loved it.)

4) Manti. (We had so much fun hanging out with Aunt Carrie's family! We could have stayed up all night talking with you - oh wait. We did. Twice. Thanks for feeding us, housing us, and entertaining us - we had such an awesome time.)

5) Back To BYU. (It was so fun to see all our friends from our freshman ward at BYU - where Nate and I met 16 years ago. Can you believe how many of us made the trip to Provo for our reunion? We love BYU! And after spending an entire day on campus, our boys are now true blue BYU fans as well!)

6) Fun With Cousins. (I can't think of anything I love more than being with my sisters. Our families are growing! There is no end to the fun when all the cousins get together. This post has some of my very favorite pictures of all time.)

7) Big Copper Mine.
(Nate and Dave took the kids to the Kennecott Copper Mine. They saw some very big trucks. While back home Alli and I took some very nice naps.)

8) Fourth of July.
(Another beautiful patriotic day in Oakley. My boys can't get enough of the ranch - don't miss the cool rope swing pictures and video in this post!)

9) To Grandmothers House We Go.
(It's always such a treat to visit grandparents. Thank you for your inspiring lives! We love you and miss you all.)

10) Temple Square. (A place of love and beauty. Temple Square and the Church History Museum are two of my favorite places on earth.)

11) Arches National Park. (My other favorite place on earth.)

12) Mesa Verde. (The boys had a fun day hiking. I stayed in the car with barfing Eliza and sleeping Lydia.)

Road Trip 2011. Done.
And now it's time for us to move (ha ha - no pun intended) onto other things. . .

These were all such good posts. It sure made me excited for summertime. I just wish you were coming this summer again!

Also your new house looks awesome. Mom showed me some of the other pictures of it. You are going to love having such a nice backyard for the kids.

Looks like a great trip. I am sending a link of the video to Dave so he can see the fun we are in for on our road trip out to Utah this summer. Just like your trip our mini-van will be packed full with kids! But we are excited. We are headed to Arches too! We are excited. And thanks for the heads up on the sand. Should probably invest in a dust buster. :)

Whoa, nice house! Jenny and I have been talking about another Houston trip... we still have fond memories of our last trip sitting in your living room with lawn chairs and drinking asian smoothies.
